Important Message from the Board Chair

Dear NNPDF Membership,

As we shared earlier this month, Nadine Hill is leaving NNPDF for personal reasons, and we are deeply grateful for Nadine’s dedication and accomplishments over the past 15 years to our community as the central office Executive Director. Nadine’s last day is September 30, 2016, so please join us in thanking Nadine for her unwavering dedication and service to the community. She has been an incredible source of support for many families at their most difficult moments in early diagnosis. She has also worked to support the important work of researchers, clinicians and all the stakeholders of the NNPDF communities.

As you know, the health care and research landscape has changed dramatically over the years since our founding as a patient support organization. As a board, in partnership with you, we want to reach the very best future outcomes for support of NNPDF families and treatment for patients. In this regard, Nadine’s departure in no way affects the benefits and/or services provided by the Foundation to the NNPDF Community, nor does it affect the ongoing research being funded by the Foundation.

Since we expect that it will be two to three weeks before we have an Interim Director, we have established an NNPDF Leadership Transition team to make sure nothing changes or affects what you need from the Foundation. The Transition Team is comprised of Board Members Wayne Palmiter, Tammy Vaughn, and myself. For questions about this transition, please reach out to us.

We know how important NNPDF is to everyone, and during this transition, we are committed to continuing to provide the support and services you need. Please direct communications you would typically have with Nadine to me (Lisa Chavez), and I will help to answer questions. In terms of daily operations, starting October 3rd, please reach out to Chris Klauer and Jill Beirl in the central office for day-to-day needs as you normally would.

We remain steadfast in our quest for a cure, and look forward to your continued input, understanding, and support.

Thank you.

Lisa Chavez, Board Chair
